Elmo introduces his friend Julia to Abby Cadabby. Julia is autistic. Abby says hello to Julia but Julia does not answer. Elmo explains that Julia sometimes needs a little more time to respond. Julia is on a swing. Elmo tells Abby that Julia finds it hard to talk and swing at the same time, so he waits until she is ready. Elmo helps Abby understand how Julia prefers to speak.
