Hopper and his gang of grasshoppers arrive to collect the food the ants have been preparing for them. When Hopper discovers the food offering is not ready, he confronts the ants. He speaks over Atta, dismisses her, and makes it clear he does not see the ants as equals. Hopper uses threats and a loud, intimidating voice to frighten the entire ant colony into doing what he says. Hopper singles out Dot and uses her to frighten the others. Flik briefly speaks up to try to stop what is happening. Hopper shuts him down immediately and orders him back into line.
